New Student Orientation Spring 2021

Virtual Zoom Registration

Pre-Orientation (these modules will go “live” Jan. 12)

We have a series of online modules students should complete prior to orientation. These can be found on our site Menlo Roots under “Orientation Programs”. In order to access the modules, students will need to log in with their Menlo credentials.

If students have any issues accessing the modules or completing them, please contact Director of Student Engagement, Carmen Stockberger at c.stockberger@menlo.edu for assistance.

International Students – Please also attend one of these sessions!

These sessions are tailored specifically for our International students here at Menlo and are offered at times that should be more convenient for those who are studying in a foreign country this spring. We encourage you to attend the main Spring 2021 Orientation sessions listed below as well to hear more about additional resources and get to know more Menlo students, but these sessions will help answer questions about your student visa and other scenarios unique to our international population.

COVID-19 Response and What to Expect This Spring

10:15 AM – 11:15 AM || The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the college and the lives of our students and their families in a variety of ways. While there is still a lot of uncertainty about what lies ahead, we want to take a moment and address some common concerns among students and their families, and give you an update on what steps Menlo is taking to ensure a safe and prompt return to campus moving forward.

(15 minute break)

Menlo 101: Campus Resources Panel

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM || During this session you’ll hear from a variety of departments across campus and learn more about the recources at your fingertips as a Menlo College student. Just because we are still not fully in-person this spring, doesn’t mean we aren’t here to support students. You can still access resources from across campus remotely, and we’ll tell you how during this session. Panelists include representatives from: Student Affairs, Academic Advising and Disability Services, Financial Aid, Academic Support Services, Career Services, and the Library.

Faculty Meet & Greet

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM || We have invited our Menlo College faculty and administration to join new students and their families in a virtual meet & greet. Come say hello and get to know a few of your professors before the first day of classes!

Saturday, January 23

Dean of Student Affairs Welcome

10 AM – 10:30 AM || Meet our new Dean of Student Affairs, La’Tonya “LT” Rease Miles. She just moved to campus herself at the beginning of January and is looking forward to working with all of our Menlo students!

Breakout Sessions (First-Year and Transfer Students)

10:30 AM – 11:30 AM || First year and transfer students will each have their own breakout session to get to know other students, and get more specialized guidance from various campus partners. You’ll also get a chance to interact with other first-year students and transfer students who are members of Student Government Association!

We have moved the Club Fair and Social to Friday, February 5 – stay tuned for an email with more details coming soon!

Sunday, January 24
